Lip tints are gaining popularity because of their thinner texture and long lasting factor. They feel more comfortable on the lips because they are more lightweight than lipsticks. The emollients that hold the formula together dry out faster, leaving behind a “stain” on the lips that is translucent, which means that it can look more natural, since your natural lip color can be seen through.
It is particularly liked these days because it is easy to wear with face masks : there is little to no transfer of colors once it dries out and the stain it leaves on the lips can last a long time – so no need to re-apply it too often.
Korean brands have a multitude of lip tints available in various textures (cream, oil, water-based) and finishes (velvet, glossy,…). They are used to create popular makeup looks like blurred lips or gradation lips and if the tendency was to go for a very matte finish a few years ago, it is becoming more glossy lately because Asian women are looking to create healthy looking, plump, moisturized lips.
