Chinese beauty is now a force to be reckoned with and many beauty brands from China are becoming a favorite among local consumers. The strength of these brands lies not only in a deep knowledge of the market but also in their capacity to innovate in terms of product, communication and packaging.
A good example of that is a product trend that has been going on for a few months now : the capsule lipstick.
These mini lipsticks in the shape of a pill are the ultimate must have items for young Chinese makeup lovers. They were born to offer consumers a small and cute product, at an affordable price point. Indeed, Chinese youngsters love to change lipstick colors and, conveniently, these products are often offered in packs with several shades. They also fit perfectly into the smallest bags and are faster to use up than full size lipsticks which is also appreciated by consumers.
These products were launched by Chinese up and coming brands and have helped them earned local market shares rapidly.
Here are a few of them :
Focallure – one of the first brands to launch capsule lipsticks in 2019.
CokAa – packed like real medicine capsules with aluminum fold.
Pudaier – 18 shades of lipsticks and a lipgloss version that changes color with temperature.
Flash Light – more elegant design and higher price point.
Heng Fang – special May 20 collection (for Chinese Valentine’s Day).
Flash Moment – quiet popular on social media in South East Asia.
